I totally forgot about this book until I looked up top 10 best childhood books。 This book also gives me nostaglia and i will have it in my classroom for sure! For students learning how to read or to have it be a great read aloud book for kindergardeners。

This book perpetuates patriarchal and racial stereotypes。 Why do only the male dogs work and drive? Why is the only girl dog a pink poodle with ridiculous hats? Why does the author insist on dividing dogs into categories by color? And the "ladder" the dogs climb at the end is obviously an allusion to corporate America。 What about the dogs who are unable to climb the ladder? 。。。I'm just kidding。 This was one of my favorite books in childhood -- I had the cassette tape too-- and my daughter, now 4 This book perpetuates patriarchal and racial stereotypes。 Why do only the male dogs work and drive? A classic I remember from my own childhood。 The pictures are simple, colorful, with sharp lines, and basic backgrounds。 This draws the child's attention to each dog and what they are doing。 The story teaches so much, the difference between work and play, colors, and sizes。 It also teaches concepts such as up, down, over, around, and under。 Still an excellent book to read with your child and then to challenge them on their own。 A classic I remember from my own childhood。 The pictures are simple, colorful, with sharp lines, and basic backgrounds。 This draws the child's attention to each dog and what they are doing。 The story teaches so much, the difference between work and play, colors, and sizes。 It also teaches concepts such as up, down, over, around, and under。 Still an excellent book to read with your child and then to challenge them on their own。 。。。more

I vaguely remember reading this a long time ago。 Full of plenty of memorable pictures and scenarios。 The sentences may be too much for a really young child, but if someone is reading it too them then the pictures do a great job of illustrating the words。

This is another one of those classic children's books that children will love。 This story was written to make you laugh and learn all at the same time。 I think the illustrations in this book are great and children can connect to them。 This story will be in classrooms for years to come。 This is another one of those classic children's books that children will love。 This story was written to make you laugh and learn all at the same time。 I think the illustrations in this book are great and children can connect to them。 This story will be in classrooms for years to come。 。。。more

Modern FantasyKindergarten-2nd grade reading levelThis book was great and is certainly a great pick for young readers。 This tells the story of dogs that live to work and have fun。 This is a crazy story that is fun and fosters creativity。 I love the book and the way that the crazy and fun story also teaches many things to the readers, such as colors and some of what daily routines may look like。 This fun story is great to use in the classroom or for any setting involving young students。

I don't like the writing in this at all。 I see the appeal for children though。 I just think there are better books to choose from for a baby's bookshelf。 This only comes recommended on theme reading。 It'd fit nicely for books about dogs or colors。 I don't like the writing in this at all。 I see the appeal for children though。 I just think there are better books to choose from for a baby's bookshelf。 This only comes recommended on theme reading。 It'd fit nicely for books about dogs or colors。 。。。more

Fun little book!Read it because of the new series on Netflix and found out it was one of my husband’s favourite books as a kid。Well my kids (almost 4 and 6。5) seem to be the perfect age especially having seen the dog with the hat in the show! They laughed every time they saw her! My oldest read it, and there was even a line where my youngest, in addition to “reading” the title, got to “read” as there was a very clear pattern and colours being reflected。We’ll have to see if it becomes a favourite, Fun little book!Read it because of the new series on Netflix and found out it was one of my husband’s favourite books as a kid。Well my kids (almost 4 and 6。5) seem to be the perfect age especially having seen the dog with the hat in the show! They laughed every time they saw her!
